INTRODUCTION

Abstract

The article deals with the ways and results of the introduction and bringing of a plant gene pool samples to the National Bank of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine in 2005-2011. Developed system of search of new samples allowed to attract a lot of new species of vegetables, medicinal, ornamental and forest crops. Overall, to the National Genebank attracted 14.5 thousand samples including 5.4 thousand from Ukraine. 1244 from CIS countries and 788 samples from other foreign countries. Most valuable samples are drawn on cereals, legumes, com. vegetables and melons, and some less ones on grinding, technical, oilseed, fodder, medicinal and aromatic, fruit and nut crops. It is found that earners of valuable traits are the genotypes of different crops from the countries with similar climatic conditions as well from geographically distant regions. Analysis of introduced material allows carry out more targeted introduction from foreign countries.
