Authorship Criteria
By submitting a manuscript to Plant Genetic Resources, authors agree that upon acceptance, the final paper will be archived in electronic databases with authorship preserved and copyright fully retained by the creators. All external information sources must be thoroughly cited within the body text and detailed in the reference list (including any of the authors' own previously published works). Authors must properly format all borrowings using explicit citations and quotation marks where applicable. Any form of plagiarism is strictly unacceptable.
Responsibilities of the Editorial Staff
- To maintain a respectful, fair, and unbiased attitude toward authors and their research directions; to safeguard editorial confidentiality, and prevent any conflicts of interest during manuscript processing.
- To refrain from making unauthorized substantive alterations to the author's text; all final post-editing versions must be approved by the authors.
- To reject manuscripts that lack scientific merit, diverge from the journal’s scope, violate its editorial policies, or display strong indications of plagiarism or prior publication elsewhere.
- To ensure the engagement of objective, qualified reviewers through the double-blind peer review workflow.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- To respect the designated review timeframe of three weeks set by the Editorial Board.
- To treat the assigned manuscript as a strictly confidential document, avoiding its disclosure or discussion with unauthorized third parties; review reports must similarly remain confidential.
- To never exploit unpublished data or insights from the reviewed manuscript for personal or professional gain.
- To deliver an objective, constructive, evidence-based, and respectful assessment of the research design and findings.
Responsibilities of Authors
- To guarantee the novelty, authenticity, and originality of the presented research results; all data or ideas drawn from other authors must be cited with high precision.
- To eliminate plagiarism or excessive borrowing in any form; to avoid self-plagiarism (text recycling), and to guarantee that the manuscript is unique and has not been published or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
- To actively participate in the peer review workflow by responding to queries and addressing criticisms.
- To return revised manuscripts within three weeks when corrections are requested.
