Article Retraction Policy
General Provisions
- This policy establishes the procedure for the retraction of articles published in the journal "Plant Genetic Resources".
- The purpose of retraction is to correct the published record and ensure the integrity of scientific publications.
- Retraction may be initiated by the authors, the Editorial Board, readers, or authorized entities.
Grounds for Retraction
- Established facts of plagiarism or unlawful appropriation of materials.
- Significant errors in the research that render the results unreliable or incorrect.
- Redundant (duplicate) publication of the same material without proper reference.
- Data falsification or manipulation.
- Failure to disclose a conflict of interest that affects the interpretation of results.
- Identification of serious ethical violations during the conduct of the research.
- Identification of unauthorized use (without citation or justification) of artificial intelligence technologies for writing the article or generating charts, tables, or other graphical materials.
Initiating the Retraction Procedure
- The party initiating the retraction submits a written statement justifying the reasons for the request.
- Evidence supporting the necessity of the retraction must be attached to the statement.
- The statement is reviewed by the Editorial Board within five working days.
Review of the Retraction Request
- A commission consisting of three independent experts is established.
- The commission conducts a comprehensive analysis of the material and provided evidence.
- The authors of the article are given the opportunity to provide their explanations.
- The review period shall not exceed 30 calendar days.
Decision-Making on Retraction
- The commission may reach one of the following decisions:
- To reject the request for retraction;
- To suggest that the authors publish a correction (erratum/corrigendum);
- To recommend the full retraction of the article.
- Decisions are made by a majority vote of the commission members.
Formalizing the Retraction
- Upon a decision to retract an article:
- The article is marked as "Retracted" in all versions of the journal;
- A retraction notice is published, specifying the reasons;
- The notice contains a link to the original article.
- Format of the Retraction Notice:
- A clear heading: "Retraction Notice";
- Bibliographic data of the original article;
- Detailed justification of the reasons for retraction;
- The date the decision takes effect.
Consequences of Retraction
- The retracted article remains in the journal's archive with a corresponding watermark.
- Notification of the retraction is sent to:
- The authors of the article;
- Indexing databases;
- The relevant scientific community.
- Information regarding the retraction is published in the nearest issue of the journal.
Authors' Rights
- Authors have the right to:
- Receive a detailed justification for the retraction decision;
- File an appeal against the commission's decision;
- Publish a comment regarding the retraction decision.
- Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief within 14 days.
