Abstract

During 2006-2010 ys the investigation of 3,5 thous samples of maize original material by a complex of economical traits was carried out.

Among new lines created directly in the laboratory for maize breeding and seed-production of Plant Production Institute nd. a.V.Ya. Yuriev, NAAS, several lines-sources of high producing capacity (125) and low natural moisture (12), with resistance to bio- (15 lines with a complex resistance to diseases and stem moth) and abiotic factors (27-heat resistant, etc.), some samples with an erectoid and semi-erectoid disposition of leaves (246), suitable to machine harvesting, are distinguished. 24early-season lines (vegetative period – 85-90 days) and 33 mid-season ones (90-100 days) with seed natural moisture – 16-20 %, are marked out. A part of the lines is introduced into the nursery of sterile forms for their transfer to a sterile basis. The lines are also included into test crosses on the hybrids belonging to different maturity groups with a complex of economical traits and properties.
