Abstract
Results of study of correlation relationships between major economic traits of rice belonging to two maturity groups and their comparison are presented. In early maturing rice accessions, the correlation coefficients between the most of economic traits are considerably higher than that of middle maturing. It was especially noticeable between the duration of the period since flooding to buttonhole of panicle and duration of a vegetation period, as well between elements of productivity (plant height, spikelet number, grain weight, panicle density). High correlation is revealed between grain weight per panicle on one hand and spikelet number and density of panicle on other hand: within the range of ±0,81-0,94 in early maturing and of ±0,67-0,88 in middle maturing rice accessions. It will be possible to create a definite range of variation of these traits when including into the breeding process specified forms of rice.
