Abstract

The article presents the results of developing and initial assessment of new glabrous forms of soybean. On the basis of the glabrous sample Cobra from the National Centre of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine (Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuryev), a new initial material was created by means of hybridization. The valuable lines, that may be progenitors of a cultivars of new generation, were selected. Their feature is a complete absence of pubescence. These newly created forms of beans differ by wide range of colors of the seed coat, umbilicus and its form and seed size. Newly created lines are unique and need studying of their systematic position. One of newly created glabrous lines is Anaconda, that overruns the national standards Annushka, Yug-30, Ustia. The indexes of yield capacity, lower bean fastening, seed weight per plant, 1000 seed weight is on the level or even higher than the standard varieties. Seeds chemical composition in an absolutely dry substance and fatty acid composition of oil in the seeds of the glabrous forms is on the level or overruns national standards. All the other glabrous forms are studied in different sections of the breeding process with the goal to create a fodder cultivar.
