Abstract
Goal. Selection of sources with the group and combined resistance of corn to pests and diseases on artificial creation of infectious backgrounds, with subsequent implemented to the breeding programs of seed breeding laboratory in the Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuriev of NAAS.
Results and discussion. The article present results of for years research (2010 - 2013 years) that gave immunological characteristics of 64 maize lines of world's gene pool collections, resistance to the most common and harmful pests at the eastern Steppe of Ukraine such as: bubble and loose smut, fusarium stem rot, fusarium cob rot of corn and stems corn borer. Among of them on the provocative background and by artificial infection was determinated sources with group resistance: to smut and fusarium stem rot: lines UB0108571, UB0103834, UB0108631, ОВ 193, ОВ 395; to smut disease: lines LNAU 7, UB0103838, UB0103837, UB0108633; smut diseases and fusarium stem rot: UB0106935, UB0107017, UB0106973, UB0108514. Complex resistance to disease and corn borer was detected in 18 samples: to smut and corn borer: Ukrainian lines UB0106921, UB0107053, UB0103851, UB0106999; to smut, fusarium stalk rot and borer: UB0106968 (Russia), UB0106943, UB0106972, UB0103845, ОВ 1152 (Ukraine); to smut disease and stems corn borer – UB0108629, UB0108509, UB0106936, UB0108507, UB0108604, UB0103839, UB0103846, UB0108608 (Ukraine); to loose smut, fusarium stalk rot and borer – line LNAU 3 (Ukraine).
Conclusions. Identified sources with the group and complex resistance are recommended to implementation for breeding programs in the laboratory of breeding and seed production of Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuriev of NAAS.
