Abstract

Goal. To spot a comparative tolerance to medium-term storage of gene pool seed samples ofdifferent crops on the results of storage in the repository of Ustimivska Experiment Station ofPlant Production of the Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuryev of NAAS.Results and discussion. The article presents the results of medium-term storage (3 to 20 years) ofgene pool seed samples of cereals, groat, legume, vegetable, forage crops in the repository ofUstimivska Experiment Station of Plant Production of the Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya.Yuryev of NAAS. The optimal mode of seeds medium-term storage of buckwheat, millet, maize,mustard, fodder and vegetable crops are regulated conditions of the refrigerating chamber (2-4 °C)in a hermetically closed containers. Medium-term storage of bean seeds, lupine, vetch, grasspea,barley, oats, triticale can be performed at non-regulated temperature conditions (5-15 °C) with amandatory sealing of the packaging. Laboratory and field germination after storage of seedsamples of millet accessions with yellow grain and thin shell is lower as compared with those thathave a brown and white grain. Seed germination after storage of representatives of East Asian ecogeographicalmillet group is lower than that of the Northern group. Among the diversity of vetch,hardy to storage are seeds of V. hybrida, V. pannonica, V. granditlora, V. bithynica; weak stamina- V. villosa. Among the representatives of grasspea species, L. sativus, L. articulata, L. aphaca, L.cicera, L. annuus, L. nissolia are high hardyto seed storage; L. hirsutus is low hardy.Conclusions. The optimal mode of seeds medium-term storage of different crops are theconditions of the refrigerating chamber (2-4 °C) in a hermetically sealed containers at drying seedsby dry air before depositing. Intraspecific differences were found on endurance of seed samples tostorage.
